Hello to the new viewers!

Sorry for my absence, I did put myself through trade school and found myself a job in my trade, I've only been making jewelry here and there, mostly commissions. I've been busy like the rest of the world, but I had a great opportunity to show my jewelry tonight!

I made an facebook page, called Wolfstare Enterprises while I am building a store page. Please check the link to see some other new stuff. Some of the oilder stuff is still on the Flickr site here:

The show will be at the Trenton Social, located at 449 South Broad Street, Trenton NJ 08611. It's across from the Sun Center, and features an innovative menu, lockers you can rent (to store your bottle service and cigars within built-in humidors), and great art on the walls, The Trenton Social also hosts different events for folks. Please check them out on Facebook (FB) for more info on coming events! Also, Vanity does beautiful glam paintings and keeps me in the know about what's happening at the Social, please check out her FB page: Vanity

Tonight's art is from Erik Nielsen, this excerpt from the event page on FB.
"Join us on August 3, 2012 at Trenton Social to celebrate our next featured photographer artist, Erik Nielsen. Erik is an extremely deep thinker where his photography is concerned. He focuses a great deal on the exchange between light areas in a dark background or vice versa. He was born in California and grew up in Oregon. He received his BA in Fine Arts from the University of Pennsylvania. Currently working at the Johnson Atelier in Hamilton, NJ as a painter and maintains the sculptures.

Erik's statement:

"As a artist I am primarily concerned with the interaction of masses of light and dark and the ways in which tension and balance can be created. Photography allows me to approach pictorial composition in a more intellectual way by removing many of the physical problems encountered in drawing and painting. The medium of photography inherently suggests a level of fidelity to the original subject that is unique – thus when we encounter the impossible or the surreal in a photograph we are astounded because we assume that it must have actually existed. My goal is to present the strange, the beautiful, the unexpected, in a way that is aesthetically palatable. I photograph strictly in black and white, and never crop. I reserve photoshop solely for adjusting contrast and brightness of the image to reinforce composition, never retouching or removing elements in the image to suit my convenience. These restrictions free me from arbitrary choices and allow me ton focus on discovering significance and order in the chaos of reality." "

I hope everyone who is in the area can make it out tonight, I am scheduled to work so I am trying to set up as soon as possible, but I may not be able to be there until later tonight. But please, come from 7 pm -2 am, enjoy the food (i rec the sirloin sandwich and mac-and-cheese balls), drinks, pretty art, and people.

                                                                                                xoxo

Ok loyal page viewers ( i know there is not many of you) but I have been uber busy with the decision to go back to school. I know, just when I seem to get everything up and update-y, I go and make myself even busier. I just wanted to share a fundraising project I'm doing for Greenpeace's ocean campaigns.

I make these cute little ringholders, that are perfect for holding wedding rings or any ring by your bed or on a vanity.

I also have floral and abstract ones...

December was pretty busy for everyone, I'm sure. As for me, I moved many pieces to good homes and started working on some new things. Thanks to everyone who supported me. =)

I posted a catalog on Flickr, because it's easier to load multiple pictures. I'm still in the process of editing them and writing their descriptions. That's the hard part about one-of-a-kind, it takes a long time to post. You can see them here

Next up: a description of why I like using certain materials.....

1st batch of photos

Time to post some photos, as promised. Let's get to it.....

Jellyfish

You can' t tell by the picture, but the center donut is iridescent, much like a jellyfish, on waxed cotton string, hand knotted, with high-end acrylic beads.

Heartbreaker

Yummy red and pink Swarovski crystals on vinyl cord, medium length, and a heart and arrow toggle clasp.

Cupcake

Another Valentine-y creation, this version is on silver chain with extension clasp because it is a choker style necklace.

Myst

A pewter key dangles from black vinyl cord, surrounded by aqua and grape colored acrylic beads, and features a pewter grape toggle.

Coral

Made from Deer bones and horns, and finished with leather ties, this piece is inspired by Native American bone chokers. Some hand painted black on white bones sit in the middle, while aqua "miracle" beads separate each section. The colors remind me of a coral snake.

Lucky You

Gold plated posts, with gold stardust beads and reconstituted malachite ( a natural gemstone used by ancient Egyptians) make this a lovely piece for any St. Patrick's Day outfit.

Ryoshima

Bright blue wooden beads on nylon coated wire with a bright red plastic Asian centerpiece.

Fraggle Rock

Green cat's eye stone and natural brown stones on wire with glass spacers. I did have matching earrings at one point,

Patience

Silver plated fish hooks ear wires come with rubber stops on the back. The centerpieces says "Patience" in aqua ink with flower silhouettes and smoky topaz beads.

Spring Fair

Green and pink glass beads on nylon coated wire and cotton candy pink speckled glass beads that can hold clip on charms.

Chunky Natural Stone Bracelets

Different kinds of natural and semi precious gemstones on strong nylon coated wires with silver toggle clasps (which make it easy to fasten yourself) are very popular and make great gifts. Although these bracelets are hefty, you would know if it came loose, and thus makes it harder to lose.

Jasmine

white turquoise and owlite (dyed to look turquoise)

Sand Princess

brown agate

Mossima

mossy green agate

Cady

African turquoise and amethyst

Choco-Zebra

Coffee and cream colored zebra agate and silver spacers

Berrystone

red and brown agate

Desert Dessert

Sandy and red agate with silver spacers

South by Southwest

White and African turquoise

I have lots more pieces but I need a good clear day to get some good light to take some more photos of some more recent pieces.
Thanks for stopping by!

Wolfstare Enterprises will be at the Robert Wood Johnson Auxiliary Club Craft Fair on September 20, from 9am to 2 pm.

You can find directions through the website or click here.

The craft fair has frustratingly been rained out for two weekends now, but this Saturday should have good weather.

I will be there with the newest one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces, and then the rest will go on display in my comicspace galleries and here at wolfstare.blogspot.com

Hey Loyal Peoples,

I know I know, I been promising photos. It's the Ides of April already. Trying to photograph and then edit all the jewelry is rough. They look better in person, and here is a link to a gallery I have up on Comicspace.com. Check the link for some past pieces.
